Kamas Valley - Fall 2006

Go to: Alpacas Llamas

Alpacas

Maybe you are in the same situation I am - working on growing your herd and have gathered some nice crias the past few years.  Now, your herd ‘really’ resembles one big happy family because you’ve got aunts, uncles, brothers, sisters, and even grannies!

I have three unproven males in my herd.  Unfortunately, they’re related to my breeding females, so I cannot use them in my program.  All of these boys are solid-boned, with dense fleeces, and strong backgrounds.  Their sires include award-winners, and their dams have strong mothering instincts, history of simple births, and plenty of milk.  A good, solid framework for any breeding program!

The propositions:

  • All three available for sale or trade
  • Introductory breeding
    • As these boys are unproven, they are each available for an introductory breeding fee of $700 in 2007.
  • Breeding Trade
    • Have a male in your herd who’s too closely related to use in your program, but think he might sell as a herdsire?  ‘Prove’ his abilities with one of my mature females, while adding some fresh genetics into your herd by breeding one of your girls to one of my boys.

Sound interesting?  Read on!
